Dedicated devices called routers are responsible for determining the paths which data must follow. Mesh networks which use the routing technique, send data along a selected path, via specific Nodes to reach its destination. Bluetooth mesh networking uses a specialised and highly optimized version of flooding called managed flooding. There are two primary techniques used to relay data across the mesh networks, namely routing and flooding. The term “mesh network” refers to a type of wireless network topology, where each network Node participates in the distribution of data across the network, by relaying data to other Nodes which are in range.
